| Custom Waterbury, CT This one was a doozy! The ADA ramp installation was pretty standard for contractor FB Mattson — it was everything else that went along with the job to make things right that was fun! In addition to the standard ADA switchback ramp installed at this medical office facility, the architect insisted on the ramp skirting matching existing facia that lined garden boxes on each side of the building. Using 5/4 board, we were able to skirt the ADA ramp unit as designed by the architect. We weren't done at skirting. The existing concrete steps needed handrails to match. Working back and forth with the contractor on exact measurements, we were able to fabricate and neatly tie in our switchback unit with additional rails and stair rails making for an attractive, well-conceived, well-designed finished product. |
